Welcome to the shop

The VoSKILL Shop is a small-group build environment where students learn tool use & safety, real skills, and real confidence-by building.

The Shop is organized by grade and readiness level. Builders work alongside peers at a similar stage and grow through increasing responsibility.

REal tools. REal Confidence

Flexible Shop model

Built for Real Life Schedules

The Shop does not run like traditional weekly class.

We operate in open blocks — designated time windows for Juniors and Crew — where builders purchase access and attend within any of those windows.

No fixed weekly commitments. No locked-in semester schedules.

How it works

• Juniors and Crew each have dedicated open shop blocks

• Builders purchase access to a specific Builder Group

• Arrival time is flexible within that window

• Projects are structured and supervised

• Builders work at their own pace toward completion

The time is flexible. The standards are not.

What That Means for Families

You don’t have to choose between shop and soccer, appointments, or life.

If a builder can attend part of a block, they work.

If they need to leave early, they leave.

If they need multiple sessions to complete a build, they return.

No guilt. No rigid attendance rules. No falling behind.

Just real building inside a structured environment.

Open shop blocks. Structured mentorship. Real progress.

Choose Your Builder group

Builders purchase access to Open Shop Blocks and come when it works for their schedule. Groups are organized by grade and readiness level

Juniors

Grades 5–8 (Ages 10+)

Structured shop sessions focused on tool safety, foundational skills, and completing real projects.

Great for first-time builders or kids building confidence in a small group environment.

Crew

Grades 9-12 (Ages 15+)

More advanced shop sessions with increased independence, problem solving, and responsibility.

For builders ready to take on bigger projects and greater ownership.

New to The Shop?

All first-time builders must attend Shop Orientation. Shop Orientations are given during the first 15-mins of each open block.

What we teach

  • measuring, drilling, fastening, sanding, project building.

  • screwdrivers, drills, hinges, knobs, fasteners.

  • low-voltage circuits, LEDs, switches, safe wiring boards.

  • gears, pulleys, levers, take-apart and rebuild thinking.

The Shop is where kids build real projects, gain confidence, and learn practical skills—guided by experienced builder-mentors.

Builders don’t just take home a project — they take home confidence, problem-solving skills, and the belief that they can do hard things.
