FAQ
Cost, Value, ROI
-
Our Tracks are $7,995, which includes everything you need — tools, certifications, and job-ready training. It’s not just tuition — it’s an investment in skills, leadership, and a career that pays off.
-
Yes — because you’re not just learning a trade, you’re building a future. Skilled HVAC and plumbing techs are in demand, and starting pay in our area often ranges from $25–35/hour right out of training.re
-
Most of our students recover the full cost of tuition within the first few months of working full-time. That’s because the trades pay — and we make sure you’re job-ready, not just test-ready.
-
Because you’re not just buying a certificate — you’re building skills no one can take from you. College can leave you broke, and online courses often skip the real-world stuff. At VoSkill, you get both: hands-on training, leadership development, and the confidence to walk onto a job site and get to work. This isn’t theory — it’s a path to steady pay and long-term growth.
-
We offer flexible payment options because we know not everyone has a pile of cash sitting around. Whether it’s installment plans or employer sponsorships, we’ll work with you to find a way that fits.
Training Experience
-
Here’s a tighter, phone-friendly version with your heart in it — the “we’re here to pour into you and make sure you succeed” message, without sounding cheesy or long:
You’ll fit right in — most of our students haven’t either.
Our Foundation Tracks (pending CIE approval) are built for adults who learn best by doing, not by sitting in a classroom.
You’ll learn through:
NCCER online modules you can do at your pace
Hands-on shop training with local trade experts who teach side-by-side
You don’t need strong school skills. You just need effort and a good attitude.
And here’s the truth: we’re here to pour into you, support you, and make sure you succeed — in the shop, online, and in life.
If you show up, we’ve got your back.
-
It depends on your pace. Our Foundations Track (pending CIE approval) blends self-paced NCCER online modules with hands-on shop training. The more consistently you show up, the faster you move. And once you’ve proven your skills, we’ll help connect you with local companies looking for dependable new techs.
Your effort sets the speed. We’re here to help you get there.
-
We get it. That’s why we built VoSkill with flexible online learning and hands-on sessions that don’t waste your time. Some guys train around their work schedule, others work nights or weekends — we’ll help you figure out what fits.
-
VoSkill feels more like a mission than a classroom. You’ll get structure, respect, and training with purpose — led by people who understand discipline, real-world leadership, and what it takes to transition from service to skilled work.
-
Not even close. We’re not interested in packing classrooms and collecting tuition. Our mission is to build men — through real skills, real leadership, and real support. If we’re not helping you move forward, we’re not doing our job.
-
That’s okay. A lot of guys come in knowing they want more — but not sure what path to take. We’ll help you explore your strengths and goals so you can pick a Track that fits your future, not someone else’s plan.
-
We don’t just teach trades — we build leaders. Every Track includes professional development and leadership coaching, so you’re not just learning how to do the work — you’re learning how to show up, earn respect, and lead from the front.
Accreditation & Program Status
-
Not yet. VoSKILL Academy is currently in the review and approval process with the Florida Commission of Independent Education (CIE). Until approval is granted, the HVAC Foundation Track is considered a planned program and not open for official enrollment.
-
It means the full HVAC Foundation Track cannot accept official enrollment yet.
You can, however:attend optional early-training workshops
get hands-on skills now
-
Yes - just not the full program. You can register for our non-accredited early trainings, which include:
introductory tool labs
Electrical safety
Refrigeration principles
Shop confidence workshops
These sessions are optional and separate from the formal program.
-
Potentially.
Once CIE approval is granted, students who completed early-training workshops may be eligible for advanced placement, skill recognition, or reduced redundancy with the full program.
We cannot formally award program credit until approval is complete. -
No. Enrollment can only begin after the program is licensed by Florida CIE. We cannon accept applications, deposits, or any form of advance commitment towards the HVAC Foundation Track at this time.
-
Many students want a chance to:
build shop and tool confidence
begin learning core skills
explore whether HVAC is a good fit
get hands-on exposure
These workshops provide that opportunity while staying fully separate from the licensed program.
Admissions
-
To get started, you’ll need to be 18 or older (or 16 with a parent’s OK), have a high school diploma, GED, or homeschool equivalent, and be able to handle the physical work required on real job sites. You’ll also need to complete a short placement test, an application, and a one-on-one interview so we can make sure this is a solid fit for your goals.
-
We keep it simple and personal. After you apply, you’ll meet one-on-one with a VoSkill team member to talk about your goals, schedule, finances, and whether this path is right for you. It’s not a sales pitch — it’s a real conversation to make sure you’re ready to build something that lasts.
-
You don’t need to be a bookworm, but you do need to be proficient in English if you’re enrolling in our English programs — or Spanish + basic English for our Spanish-based programs. That’s because safety, communication, and job site success all depend on it. Don’t worry, we’ll walk you through what’s expected before you sign up.
-
You don’t need to be a gym rat, but you do need to be able to handle the kind of work you’ll do on real job sites. That means standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in heat or tight spaces. If you’ve got questions or need accommodations, just reach out — we’ll talk it through with you before you enroll.
Career Support & Tools
-
Absolutely. We work directly with local employers and service companies who are ready to hire. From day one, we’re helping you build the skills and mindset they’re looking for — and introducing you to real opportunities, not dead-end leads.
-
Neither do we. That’s why our training is built around real market demand, job placement support, and leadership skills that set you apart — so when you finish, you don’t just hope for a job, you’re ready to land one.
-
Nope — we’ve got you covered. VoSkill provides all the tools you need during training, so you can focus on learning without having to drop cash on gear. And when you graduate, we’ll help you gear up with a $500 or $200 tool voucher (depending on your Track) to start building your own set. You can show up with nothing but the right mindset.
Safety
-
It’s everything. From Day One, you’ll be trained to spot hazards, follow best practices, and use proper PPE — including glasses, gloves, pants, and closed-toe shoes. You’ll also learn how to handle tools, equipment, and emergencies the right way — because your safety, and your crew’s, depends on it.
-
We provide everything you need — including safety glasses, gloves, and more. But you’re expected to wear it and follow all safety rules without excuses. This isn’t just for school — it’s how you protect yourself on the job.
Grading & Assessment
-
You’ll need to score at least 70% on your online quizzes and written tests to move forward — and yes, you’ll get a chance to retest if needed. For hands-on work, we use a simple Go / No-Go system to make sure you can actually do the job, not just memorize it.
-
That’s part of the process. We’ll coach you through it. But to pass, you’ve got to prove you can safely and correctly do the work — and we won’t pass you until you’re ready. This is about mastery, not just moving you through.
-
Yes. The trades run on time, and so do we. Miss more than 2 class days, and you’ll be withdrawn. Show up more than 15 minutes late and it counts as a partial absence — more than 30 minutes, and it’s a half-day. We’ll work with you when life happens, but accountability matters here.
-
If you miss less than 15%, you can make it up on the weekend for a small fee. If you miss more than that, you’ll need to jump into the next program session. We’ll always do our best to help you stay on track — but you’ve got to show up.
