HVAC: Maintenance Technician Professional

HMTP 201 is a 4-Week Part-Time Track that combines over 80 hrs of in-person hands-on HVAC training and professional development skills that equip you to land a great job. When you’re not in the shop you’ll take self-paced on-line training so you can finish with your EPA 608 and OSHA-10 Certifications, making you stand out even more.

This accelerated Track is for those that are working full-time, have a good understanding tools, are comfortable fixing things, and want the shortest path to an career in HVAC.

Week 1

Introduction to the VoSkill Mission and the endless possibilities the trades can provide. During this week you’ll learn about: Trade Math, Overview of Cooling, and Compressors.

Week2

You’ll wrap Overview of Cooling. Knockout Basics of Electricity, Customer Engagement, and Copper and Plastic Piping. With the rest of your time in the shop making circuits, measuring, cutting, glueing pipes.

Week3

This week is full of hands-on Soldering and Brazing pipe, followed on with Basic Maintenance, and finishing with Refrigerants and Oils.

Week4

We begin prepping you for interviews with Professional Development training and a brief Introduction to Heating. Then its 2 days in the shop doing Leak Detection, Evacuation, Recovery, and Charging units.

Graduation

Our mission doesn’t end with a piece of paper. We round up some of the best HVAC businesses in our area and bring them in to meet you, see the program, and talk shop. Think of it like Networking 101 but more fun with food and leads to an interview.

On-Line

SCHEDULE: In-Person Classes run Thur-Fri 430-930 and Sat 830-630 for 4 weeks. Your success is celebrated on Saturday of the last week. On-Line can start as early as payment or first day of class, your choice.
