HVAC Foundation Track

The fastest path to becoming an HVAC Helper or Technician starts with having a capable, confident foundation of hands-on training, industry recognized curriculum, and personal development mentoring.

All of the VoSKILL’s Foundation Tracks are where national standards meet real-world experience. The HVAC Foundation Track (pending Florida’s CIE Accreditation approval- 2026) is a hands-on experience built to give you the skills employers actually look for on day one — tool use, safety, wiring basics, airflow, refrigerant fundamentals, troubleshooting, and real job-site behaviors.

At VoSKILL we use a blended learning model: NCCER’s nationally recognized curriculum is delivered online, allowing you to complete your academic training on a flexible schedule that works for you. Then, all theory is brought to life in our shop through hands-one training lead by experienced local HVAC professionals. You’ll learn the principles at home and build the skills in person — the combination that makes VoSKILL uniquely effective.

You are also taught the key safety and environmental principles needed to site for the EPA 608 and OSHA-10 certifications exams.

How the program will work

VoSKILL’s training moves in clear, practical steps.

The NCCER online coursework is completed in sequence — you must pass each module before moving on, which keeps learning focused and prevents skipping ahead. Some modules include hands-on skills, and when they do, you’ll schedule flexible shop time to complete the required practice and performance evaluations with our instructors. Whether you need a quick check-off or a few hours of deeper practice, shop sessions are booked in blocks that fit your schedule. Orientation and professional development are completed in person, while all hands-on application and skills testing happen inside the VoSKILL shop with real equipment and real tradesmen. This structure keeps you progressing steadily, building both knowledge and confidence with every completed module.

Start Building HVAC Skills Now — No Need to Wait for Full Program Approval

While VoSKILL’s accredited HVAC Foundation Track is under state review, we offer a series of optional, non-accredited hands-on HVAC Skill Workshops. These short and focused sessions help you start building tool confidence, safety habits, wiring basics, cooling fundamentals, and real shop experience before entering the formal program.

These workshops are independent of the future accredited program and do not require formal enrollment. They are ideal for anyone wanting to explore HVAC as a career, gain early exposure, or begin developing practical skills now.

Once the accredited HVAC Foundation Track is approved, students who completed early workshops may be considered for advanced placement or reduced redundancy in the full program — pending state approval and compliance requirements.

A schedule of upcoming HVAC Skills Workshops is posted below and updated throughout the year.

VoSKILL Academy is built to grow.

As we complete the approval process for the HVAC Foundation Track, we are also developing additional Foundation Tracks in other trade areas, such as electrical, plumbing, small appliance repair, and general maintenance. These programs will go through their own approval processes in the future, and our long-term vision is to offer multiple pathways for students to build real hands-on skill and launch into skilled trades with confidence.
